Introduction Florida is a state in the southeastern region of United States and is ranked 4th among the 50 states of U.S. Florida was added to U.S union in 1845 as 25th state. Basically the function, structure, duties and operation of the government of the State of Florida are defined and established by the Florida Constitution which established the basic laws of the government. The state government comprises of three branches: judicial, executive and legislative. The legislature enacts bills which if passed by the Governor becomes Florida Statues. The legislature of Florida comprises of Florida Senators which are 40 in number and 120 members in House of Representatives. The Supreme Court in Florida consists of a chief Justice and six justices. There are 67 counties in Florida.
