Hialeah is a city in Miami-Dade County, in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area. The community derives its name from Seminole for "high prairie". The community is in the Eastern Standard time zone. It is the fifth largest city of Florida covering an area of 20 square miles.

Miami-Hialeah was ranked 22nd on Inc. Magazine's 2004 list of the "Top 25 Cities for Doing Business in America" in the "large cities" category.
