Fort Lauderdale : Florida

Fort Lauderdale was incorporated on March 27, 1911. It is situated on the southeast coast of Florida, between Miami and Palm Beach. Florida is approximately 23 miles north of Miami and 42 miles south of Palm Beach. It is in Broward County and the largest among the County's 30 municipalities and the seventh largest city in Florida. It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, New River and countless scenic inland waterways.The community was named after Major William Lauderdale, commander of the Seminole War fort built here.
Fort Lauderdale enjoys a sub-tropical climate with pleasant weather all round the year. Relative average humidity ranges between 70-85 percent. It is prone to hurricanes from June through November.
